Pizza Burger Pie

Ingredients
Crust / Base

1 can (16 oz / 450 g) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits (8 count)
Or 1 can crescent roll dough sheet, or 1 tube pizza dough
Filling

1 lb (450 g) ground beef (80/20)

½ cup diced onion
-
½ cup diced green bell pepper (optional)

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 cup pizza sauce (or marinara)
-
½ tsp salt
-
¼ tsp black pepper
-
½ tsp Italian seasoning
-
½ cup sliced pepperoni (mini or regular, chopped)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
-
½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
Topping
-
¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
1 tsp dried oregano or parsley
Optional Garnish

Fresh basil or parsley
-
Red pepper flakes
Instructions
1. Preheat & Prep
Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F). Grease a 9-inch pie dish or deep-dish pie plate, or a 9×9 square baking dish.
2. Make the Crust

Press biscuit dough evenly onto the bottom and up the sides of the dish, pinching seams together to form one solid crust.

(If using crescent dough sheet — just unroll and press in.)

Bake crust alone for 5 minutes (optional but prevents soggy bottom). Remove from oven.
3. Cook the Filling

In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook ground beef with onion, bell pepper, and garlic until beef is browned and vegetables soften. Drain excess fat.

Stir in pizza sauce, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning. Simmer 2 minutes.

Remove from heat. Stir in chopped pepperoni.
4. Assemble the Pie

Spread beef mixture evenly into the pre-baked crust.

Sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar on top.
5. Top It (Optional But Awesome)

For a stuffed crust edge: Sprinkle extra cheese around the rim and fold dough over slightly.

For a lattice or biscuit top: Flatten remaining biscuits and arrange on top, or just leave open-faced.
6. Bake

Bake 20–25 minutes until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly.

Sprinkle Parmesan and oregano on top during last 5 minutes.
7. Rest & Serve
Let sit 5–10 minutes before slicing (so it holds together). Garnish with fresh basil.
