Ingredients

Banana Bread Brownies

Brown Butter Frosting

  • 3 cups powdered sugar

  • 3 tablespoons milk

Instructions

Make the Brownies

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, beat sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Mix in mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  4. Add flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir until combined.
  5. Spread batter evenly into prepared pan.
  6. Bake for 22–25 minutes until lightly golden and set.
  7. Let cool slightly.

Make the Brown Butter Frosting

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Continue cooking until butter turns golden brown and smells nutty.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.

Finish

  1. Spread warm frosting over slightly warm brownies.
  2. Allow frosting to set before slicing into bars.
